  • Author: Eloise
  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 16 brownies 1x

Description

These Star Wars Chewbacca brownies are fudgy, rich, and topped with shaggy chocolate frosting and playful candy decorations. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or any day you want to add a little galactic fun to your dessert table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)
  • 1 cup (85g) unsweetened cocoa powder (Dutch-process preferred)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 1/2 cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate chips, whole
  • 1 1/2 cups (340g) chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • Mini candy eyes
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • White chocolate chips (optional, for bandolier detail)
  • Chocolate sprinkles or shavings (optional, for extra texture)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper or grease it well.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter with 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly (about 3 minutes).
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter-chocolate mixture and sugar until glossy. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold together with a spatula until just combined.
  5. Fold in the remaining 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let brownies cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes. For clean cuts, chill in the fridge for 15 minutes after cooling.
  8. Slice cooled brownies into rectangles or squares (12 to 16 pieces). Frost each with a thick layer of chocolate frosting.
  9. Use a fork to gently drag through the frosting, creating a shaggy, fur-like effect.
  10. Place two mini candy eyes near the top of each brownie. Add a mini chocolate chip or brown M&M for the nose below the eyes. Use more chocolate chips, sprinkles, or white chocolate chips for the bandolier and fur texture.
  11. Arrange on a platter and serve.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter for fudgy brownies. Use room temperature eggs for best texture. For gluten-free or dairy-free versions, substitute accordingly. Decorate with candy eyes and chocolate chips for Chewbacca’s face and fur. Let brownies cool completely before cutting for clean slices. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze undecorated brownies for up to 2 months.
